The European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) has been in force since 28 June 2025. Denmark has transposed it into national law with the fine and enforcement structure summarised below.
Bøde (criminal fine) of amount determined by courts — no fixed maximum is set in the law (§57). Both natural persons and corporate entities can be prosecuted.

Enforcement authority
Sikkerhedsstyrelsen (SIK / Danish Safety Technology Authority) — lead supervisory authority for most products and services; sector co-authorities: Finanstilsynet (finance), Energistyrelsen (telecoms), Trafikstyrelsen (transport), Konkurrence- og Forbrugerstyrelsen (consumer/competition). Authorities refer cases for criminal prosecution; courts impose fines.
